CS Wall Street Immersion Program Interview next week....what to expect
So I have an interview next Thursday with Credit Suisse for their Wall Street Immersion Program. It is a week long summer externship that exposes you to Investment banking.
They said the questions will mainly be behavioral and about your prior experiences.
What should I expect?
Is it going to be the basic:
Walk me through your resume
Why CS?
Why IBD?
Why did you pick your major?
What have you done in the past that will make you successfull in IBD?
What do you know about IBD?
Any help is appreciated.
haha ok, so I just had this interview yesterday. you have it on the dot. the interview is very brief and they basically shoot those exact questions at you. I didn't think it was a big deal. good luck.
fyi on average they're accepting 3 students per school.
tip: it is better to waste time thinking of examples prior to, rather than during, an interview.
("um"s and thinking motions tend not to be useful in selling your skills etc)
k212 did you go to New York for the interview, or did they do the interview over the phone?
The reason I ask is because I have two damn tests that I have to miss in order to attend this very brief interview in New York.
I have to fly all the way to New York from Miami for an interview that will be pretty straight forward and I would much prefer to do it over the phone.
has anyone heard back about this yet? i had an interview and still haven't heard either way

Anyone know what kind of questions to expect during a phone interview for this program?
Yes, very fit. Tell me about yourself, run me through your resume, what are your interests, why CS and why investment banking?
Did you do this program? A friend of mine got the email notification today and asked me about it, but I couldn't tell him much. Do you know how many people they took last year? And how many actually got an SA offer for their junior year?
I've heard that about 35 candidates are selected out of 300+. I seriously doubt that the interview will dive too far into the technical stuff, since it's a basically a sophomore externship.
I'm just curious if it's just a phone interview or another final round in the office.
Do you mean 35 are selected for the program or 35 are interviewed for 1st round? Otherwise, we'd be talking about almost a 12% acceptance rate, which seems ridiculously high for banking.
4 people from my school did it back when I was a sophomore. All 4 were invited to interview for on-campus first rounds for SA positions. 2 of the 4 ended up getting SA offers at the end.
I know several kids in my school got the 1st round interview. Does anyone know who will be giving the phone interviews? Are they HR people or associates?
did the formatting change this year? knew some people last year who were just invited to an interview in ny
Does the program mainly take sophomores or do you guys know of freshmen who got in?
I worked on the Structured Products Desk for about 3 years. Credit Suisse is a great company. Not the leader but always in the top six or seven. Pay well, too! Be on the look out to suck up to anyone you can. Go out drinking with whomever you can find!
First round interviews are almost always with HR. Be ready to answer a lot of technical questions. Excel modeling skills are essential. C++ is plus?!?!?
how does being a part of this program look for junior year internships?
anyone?
