Current investment banking analyst interested in a career in venture capital
3 questions:
1) What books/blogs should I read to prepare for VC recruiting and interviews?
Is there something similar to M&I 400, “Breaking Into WallStreet”, or any guides for VC interviews? I'm interested in firms like a16z, Sequoia, and KPCB.
2) How much does personal branding matter? How much does your personal blog/twitter/etc. matter for VC recruiting?
3) I have a contact at a top VC firm - what is the best way to keep in touch with him?
I can’t recruit for this VC firm until ~1.5 years from now. I'd love to simply coffee chat him and pick his brain on topics I follow, but would he think that that's a waste of time since VC recruiting won't happen until much later? How do I maintain contact with him so that in 1.5 years, he'll remember me?
Thanks in advance!
