Mandarin25:

Approximately how long did you wait until a decision was rendered (the website said 3-6 weeks)? I applied at the deadline for fall semester (as my recommendations were stuck in purgatory). Pending admission, I will attend in the fall.

Is it not already "Fall Semester?"

I know my program started last week.

I read GMATs not required?

What would you say is weighed most in applicants? Company prestige currently at? Recommendations?

I went to a good undergrad but terrible GPA. I'm now at a F15 company however.

I'm intending to apply sometime this month. Anyone have any knowledge on how difficult it is to get in? I have not taken the GMAT, went to a top 50 school (not very prestigious), and graduated with a 3.1 GPA. However, I had two internships working in acquisitions for a small fund and have been working in Debt/Equity placement for a very strong group at one of the big brokerages for the past 2 years (not in NYC). I appreciated all advice/responses.

Can anyone comment on what the student life is like? Of course, much of this will depend on your personal situation and how you craft it accordingly, but I'm very curious to hear about the general culture and student life there? I know it is a larger school with part-time students and people starting at all different times etc. Do you feel like the camaraderie and campus experience gets diluted because of that?

CTLax45 would like to know of what your qualifications were for getting in if possible. I am thinking of applying, come from a top 20 school with a low 3s GPA. I have some solid real estate experience including a REPE role with a medium sized shop lined up for after graduation and internship with top investment sales team (think Eastdil, CBRE, Cushman) in a major city. I am thinking of working for about a year and then applying. Do you think this would suffice? If not, should I take the GMAT or GRE to demonstrate academic ability?

If you have a solid career track in CRE, then you don't need to go to NYU Schack. Most people that are there are trying to pivot. Iie. ppl not already in CRE, or someone who is in RE accounting or AM and wants to get into a front office role.

I was in the program for two+ years part time myself. I was not in CRE prior, and ended up with great internships, and eventually a great jobs on the debt lending side. All thanks to NYU MSRE.

Don't need GMAT or GRE to get in.
