Date or Networking?
I go to a target school H/Y/P and an associate at a really great buyside firm asked me out to drinks at a fancy restaurant / bar in NYC on a Friday night.
I can't tell if this was a networking invitation or a date.... We met once before very briefly and somehow found out my email, etc. I'm obviously hesitant to ask but I accepted the invitation. We exchanged numbers too.
Anyway, is this just normal networking and I'm overthinking this, or does this person actually think this is a date? Is this normal? Has this ever happened to you?
Why would an associate at a "great buy side firm" go out of their way to network with a student?
this
He goes to H / Y / P, clearly a big deal....
The lack of common sense some people have... Clearly not networking.
Troll post. No way.
A quick lunch or coffee during a weekday is networking. Drinks on a Friday night at a nice place is not.
Love the hostility... And I'm not sure VolSurface. I'm clearly new to this and this seemed off. Hence, why I posed the question.
Well it definitely wasn't networking. We're going on a second date though. So still a win in my book haha.
Did you talk about careers at all?
thanks for the update haha if she met you at a recruiting event/anything promoted by her firm, there's definitely grounds to fire her
Good man. Now it's time to blackmail her into an internship offer.
exactly. How desperate do you have to be to start dating your company's intern prospects?
He bout to bust all kindz of nutz in that associate
