I think the big name will outweigh a no-name experience, especially given that the boutique is not guaranteed. It seems like PWM sophomore year --> IB junior year is a pretty typical path.
Take it. Bird in the hand
Which group did you get an offer from? Know a fair bit about Well's WIM program, PM me if you want my 2c.
IMO its always better to have an IBD experience in your resume than a PWM experience, no matter how prestigious the name in front might be. At the end of the day, interviewers I met were always more interested in my IBD experience at a no-name boutique bank than my other experiences at more prestigious names. If you think you can get the IBD experience, I think you should go for it.
Second that. Pretty much anything FO related now so youre good to go for recruiting.
I tend to agree with getting a solid brand name behind you. I did Wealth Management at a BB my sophomore year and transitioned pretty effortlessly into IB my junior. I think if you're smart enough to secure a position with Wells already, you're most likely in a great position!
