Are you asking about the JPM CRE lending team or the JPM Asset Management Real Estate of America’s team?
I was more curious about their lending group but if you know more about their real estate of America’s, I’d also be really interested! Do you know what the full time opportunities are in both groups?
JPM CRE Lending has both SA and FT opportunities. They do your pretty straight down the fairway fixed rate permanent financing and your run of the mill bank lending. They are the largest multifamily lender but also touch all the main product types for the most part. Not a bad place to start if you're looking to go into CRE lending.
JPMAM RE Americas team is a much much much smaller group within a huge bank. Think of them as a REPE team within JPM. This team raises capital from a variety of public/private pensions, endowments, sovereign wealth funds, HNW individuals, etc. In addition to their main Core and Core+ funds, they also have value-add and opportunistic funds. An analyst at JPMAM works on deals within that office's region. For example, the LA team covers almost all of Denver west. The role is heavy asset management in the first two years with a bit of acquisitions work here and there. JPMAM also has a number of separate accounts that they invest on behalf of.
One of the pro's of working at JPMAM is that they acquire or own a number of trophy properties, so you'd get to work on some cool assets. It's also terrific generalist exposure for an analyst.
The JPM Asset Management Team is a good place. All Core and Core + from my understanding. As an analyst, you are split into teams based on geography dealing with both acquisitions and asset management for the region. (This is for NYC).
In addition to the core / core plus, they do development and value add. They are the LP Equity for quite a few Tri-State area ground up development projects.
Do you know when they post their FT opportunities?
they don’t really follow the regular JPM hiring timelines. it’s usually on as needed basis, or you get the FT after being a SA
