Honestly, its would be a huge bonus. Think about it, if your interviewers find out they will be drooling like a fat kid at a pie eating contest.

Can you make sure it never gets out? if you talk to the right people, yes. Take a tactical approach to removing the content from wherever you may find it. Always remember that you're not the only (and def. not the first) person in your situation.

Might some "quality" guy have a problem with it? Yeah. You have to be prepared for that possibility. It's not a judgment of character on either you or the guy; people have expectations, and it's only fair to respect that some guys won't be comfortable with what you did.

I have learned in life that if you're giving something a good, honest effort that you'll almost certainly succeed at it given time. If you carry yourself like someone deserving of other people's respect, that will supersede any weird past you might have, so long as you made the effort to remove the offensive content. Good luck.

Unless you used your real name or gave away details that make it clear you were the girl, can't you just change your hairstyle and say "looks like me, but is not me"?

Those who can, do. Those who can't, post threads about how to do it on WSO.

first, never assume you can erase your web presence.

second, josh duggar is a child molester, not a camgirl, no comparison. he could go to jail, you just regret a decision you made when you were practically still in high school, and there's not a person on the face of this earth that doesn't have a few of those decisions.

let me ask you this: if I googled your name, how long would it take me to find said pics of you? page 1? page 20? I don't think it bodes well if the first 3 results are your linkedin profile, your facebook page, and then your camgirl page, just as an example. but if it's buried way back in google, don't worry about it.

as far as extreme actions? I think there are internet reputation firms out there (likely within the PR realm) that can help minimize your former self's web presence, but again I wouldn't believe that it can be erased 100%.

Based on a podcast I listened to on this, the PR firms are mainly for burying the dirt far back in the google hits on your name, so likely mostly useful if you were naive enough to cam under your own name. The PR firms will create tedious, banal stuff under your name and dance with Google's search algorithms so that the first 10 - 20 pages of results are boring vanilla stuff.

There may be PR firms with a little more legal edge who can serve cease and desist notices, but I suspect that's a whack-a-mole game that empties your wallet without any benefit. Once content is on the internet, it's too late to try to claw it back.

Agree with Ssits. If you didn't use your real name, how would people google results for you?

Second, there is absolutely no need to tell future boyfriends about that. There are too many people that over disclose their past. What good would come out of telling a future boyfriend or husband about your cam girl past?

Nothing.
