Edmundo Braverman:
I think we have a huge opportunity here to make this one of the best conspiracy theory threads in WSO history. SB for the most outlandish.
The problem is, there really is no outlandish MMM scenario. I could honestly see him being abducted by some Eastern European Mafia during a botched exchange of stolen walkmen just as well as I could see him losing interest and just fading away.

Nominating myself for the new NSFW cast since I have a ton of dick jokes I'm just waiting to use.

Fuck you Ratina. MMM is a real mofo who preaches real shit. You may not agree with what he says, but he's got the nuts to be blunt.

Fuck you too. Real shit? Most of his crap is completely fabricated. And my post got deleted by mods.

As someone who knows MMM and has met him on a couple occasions, yes, I would say his stories are very true.

Regardless, you wonder why people give you shit. This was simply a post where people were asking where a regular user has been and you roll in with the insults. How about you relax a little and knock it off with the hate fest.

No, thank you.

Does anyone know what his background is? He talks with a lot of "authority" on a variety of topics on here, but all we know is that he's some dude in a mask.

To add, anyone that bought into his "man week" stories without a hint of skepticism is either dumb or lying. Not to mention, anyone that would respect someone who did what he claims to have done is an asshole.

Thank you for your opinion. It was greatly valued.

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.

Completely agree. Happy holidays.

Why is everyone on MMM's junk? Besides his stupid blog, what does he actually add to WSO? Granted I dont add a huge amount either but no one is making threads about me.

what MMM brings to WSO is balls...brass balls. Plus he's a nice guy w/ all the interaction I have had w/ him

What exactly is the issue? I just went to the main site and scrolled through and their is a mix of fun as well as industry. Just on this page 1 of current topics you have discussions on MFE, commodities trading, networking, Private Banking, Obama, LevFin, Non target randomness, Citi and drug test shit. Seems like a decent mix to me.

What exactly would you like to see?

i know you're not asking me, but i'll answer anyway.

what is exactly the issue? reiterating bloomberg and wall street journal headlines with a half-ass attempt at humor is NOT informative.

what exactly would i like to see? lets start with what i do not want to see. i do not want to see mmm's posts or goldman sacks posts on the headlines, b/c they obviously suck. now i will get to what i want to see...i want to see edmundo asshole-face write more posts about life, not finance, b/c they are worth the 5-10 mins its takes to read...i want to see more posts by proven industry experts, preferably with little special stars by their name tags.

how do you go about telling the difference between headlines that are 'headline worthy' and the headlines that just truly suck big fat elephant balls? well, the best headlines are not the ones that reiterate shit from bloomberg...unless theyre earth-shattering headlines that spark meaningful discussion among the industry experts on this site. start with that.

what else would i like to see? a section on this website that only lets industry experts and proven knowledgeable users to view and post.

this is a harsh response, i know. but YOU asked the question, i just answered. not trying to insult anybody, just trying to voice an opinion to make this website a little bit better.

Let me be clear- I don't want to see GS's current avatar. It will probably get me fired one day and may also be in poor taste.

Also, does a blog post guarantee that something gets posted to WSO's front page? If so, I am going to be posting about IlliniProgrammer's secret learn-accounting snake oil, available for $39.95 if you send a check or money order to my PO box.

If people want content, I can try to make a couple of posts with relatively boring life advice from a 25-year-old. They won't be cool as Edmundo's posts or that former CBOE CEO's posts, but it will at least tide people over.

Aside from being teabagged...

They have the depth of an article in Us Weekly, and they are not funny. Way too much wannabe editorializing, not much in the way of facts. Midas is average. GMS needs to go.

I really would like to see only people with expert insight on the main page.

Does anybody want to read a bad summary of an article that is not even linked properly? http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/blog/indicators-that-work-facts-that-act…

Or a long, average summary/commentary on a good article? http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/blog/wall-street-in-the-er

Just my opinion. I know this site can do better.

Here's a more important issue concerning the site's content: where have Edmundo and Drexelalum been?

It still seems that Edmundo's around every once and a while, but it definitely feels like he's taken a step back from the site. I haven't even seen Drexel.

If WSO is really trying to keep it's content at a level worth reading, then we need to keep those guys (also AnthonyD) around.

Guys, I'm on vacation until next week. I haven't taken a step back from the site (or any bar in the past three weeks, for that matter). I'll be in Italy until Sunday, and back to work on Monday.

In the meantime, enjoy the free content on the site, or skip it. Better yet, submit a writing sample that showcases your finance chops, and maybe Patrick will make you famous.

IlliniProgrammer:
I will settle for deleting GS's profile picture. Not really work safe- possibly scaring away other posters.

Ditto... I do most of my reading / replying while I'm at work and last thing I'd like is an MD strolling by and seeing a gold sack on my screen. If he just sees Wallstreetoasis that's fine, he'll probably think it's a new website but if he sees a gold sack, well then I'm done... Speaking of which, an MD popped up while I was typing this..

+1.....as if it is not hard already to make this typing look like work. Besides, I do not really like much of his content.

Maybe I do not have quotes under my name on google, but I KEEP IT REAL

LIBOR:
This thread is basically a meeting of the WSO 5 families.

LOL...so true!

I do feel that GS's picture should probably be changed, but if he is not in violation of any current site policies, then I suppose there's not much else that can be done except to not read his posts.

Ok. Somebody made a comment about the lack of quality OPs involving life advice on the site, so I made a post in the banking section to see if I can help fill the void. It's not meant to compete with a Monty/Marcus/Edmundo life-advice post, but hopefully it can tide people over until everyone gets back from vacation. Hopefully other experienced members will step up to the plate, too.

Gold Man, please delete your balls. I will look into if i can remove it.
Thank you!
that's funny, i thought you were joking when you said you were going to delete that avatar. it doesnt even look like a sack. if we're talking about avatar's now, the avatar you should be concerned about is marcushalbertsam's.
That's a good point. As a guy, I don't think it's in quite as poor taste as showing certain body parts, but I'm guessing female readers may disagree.

And FWIW, I'm not a moderator. I think Anthony is. The star just means that Patrick has confirmed I work in industry. (That may change if my MD walks by and I have GS's avatar on screen.)

This is like the 3rd or 4th thread created about this. MMM has obviously joined some anti government miltia out in the back woods.
