I'd still go with DB. They're going through a downsize as you said, but if you read their strategy 2020 plan you can see they are still investing in certain desks. I suggest you familiarize yourself with that document and act accordingly this summer.
A lot of DB people have already left to go to UBS. Including the former head of sales. So yes, is it a better name bank? Today, it is. But it's cutting back massively and they haven't even done all the layoffs yet. They are pulling out of countries. You might get hired in S&T but might not be a desk you want to be in due to limitations. But do what makes you feel comfortable.

Chill out. Pick up a credit trading book and go through it. Most importantly be aware of what is happening in the credit sector and you should be fine.

Could you please recommend a good credit trading book or some material / online resources to go through, dont have much time to prepare though.

Just accepted DB over JPM Risk and Citi S&T. Hope I made the right choice for myself (was a bit sad that DB doesn't give you a housing allowance, but that shouldn't matter in the long run). So who else is going to DB this summer?

Take UBS. It's very lean at DB and they are cutting back even more based on their latest headlines.
But isn't DB considered to be significantly better in sales and trading? And in general, isn't DB considered a better name to have on a CV than UBS?

I never thought id see the day that taking the UBS offer would be labelled as the "safe choice"...
Just goes to show how these things shift every couple of years..

Deutsche Bank Trading Internship (Originally Posted: 04/17/2010)
Hi.
An intern from Deutsche Bank called me last night to schedule an interview next week..
The position is an internship at credit trading desk during this summer and the interview will be a conference
call interview. I have never had a conference call interview and with trading desk..
Could you please give me some advise on how to prepare for the interview? Anything to expect?
It may vary a lot from person to person, but do you think it is going to be very technical?
What to prepare in terms of "credi trading"..?
Any comments would be greatly appreciated..
Thanks

First, learn english. Secondly, yes follow the markets and study up on pricing/credit analysis

A bunch of my friends are headed to Citi S&T this summer. Hopefully we'll have time to hang out after work.
