UK grads applying to US graduate schemes

For a UK graduate looking to apply for US graduate schemes (both finance and non finance) how difficult is the Visa process and do firms have a strong US grad preference? My gf is currently doing a one year internship in the US that will finish summer of 2012 and so she is looking to start a permanent job after that.

When I moved I was on an intra company Visa so didn't have to go through any of this, any help and insight would be much appreciated.

Unless you're from Oxbridge I doubt they'll recognise your uni. Then they'll have to get their heads around grading not being in GPA format
