UK grads applying to US graduate schemes
For a UK graduate looking to apply for US graduate schemes (both finance and non finance) how difficult is the Visa process and do firms have a strong US grad preference? My gf is currently doing a one year internship in the US that will finish summer of 2012 and so she is looking to start a permanent job after that.
When I moved I was on an intra company Visa so didn't have to go through any of this, any help and insight would be much appreciated.
Unless you're from Oxbridge I doubt they'll recognise your uni. Then they'll have to get their heads around grading not being in GPA format

Fairly long-term reader of these forums and have been a lot of help so far, so thanks to a lot of you for the advice that you provide us rookies with!
Have a question though which i haven't seen much related to;
What is the situation regarding BB's (and also for some of the more prestigious boutiques - although I realise being even slightly picky isn't ideal) with offices in LA/NY recruiting for internships from UK-based universities? Oxford and Cambridge of course would be fine, but what about from those ranked 5-10? I'm just not fully convinced of (outside of the top 3/4) the reputation that some of these 'lesser-known' British universities hold.
I'm aware the more conventional route would be to go through the internships in London, and relocate a few years down the line, but for me it would be ideal to be in the US sooner.
Work experience is pretty solid, have a month-long stint at a BB in one of their Asia offices confirmed, with hopefully more to come.
Any info related to this would be great, cheers
