Dissect This Job Posting
Hey WSO Gurus I was hoping you could help me dissect this job posting description and whether or not it is an internship worth taking my Sophomore Fall/Spring to better position myself for a i-banking internship (or something along the lines as I know it could be unrealistic at this point) this coming summer. If you also know of the company or have worked for them in the past I would also appreciate any input you have. From what I've read from sites such as Glassdoor.com, FGI Risk seems more of a sales job but I could be incorrect.
Regardless, I would appreciate the help in understanding what it is they're looking for and what experience I could get out of this position.
Thanks in advance!

•Work directly with Senior Vice President and research marketing studies
•Opportunity to grow division of global communication and sales

•Open to all majors, although Communications, Finance and Business majors are encouraged to apply

•No experience necessary, but Sales and Marketing experience a plus
•Strong communication skills, both oral and written, required
•Comfortable communicating with senior financial executives of customers
Sounds like a sales job especially since it feeds into a sales associate ft position. But if you can't find an IB internship for the school year I say take what you can get. I got dinged in a BB SA interview, largely because when he asked me for examples of demonstrated interest in finance I came up with a goose egg.
Since it's only my Sophomore Fall should I just take this or a work-study position at my school working in the billing division for the economics department? I'm pretty sure the work-study would pay more but if I can get good experience for my resume I would take that over pay any time.
