Distress Investing in Small Companies
Does anyone know of any firms that'd take an interest in distress companies under $20mm? I'm in the real estate space myself and have little/no familiarity in the vulture/distress world, but had a deal hit our desk regarding a company that'll be going into a bankruptcy sale in the next couple of months. People I've spoken with that actually know the industry (again which I am not) mentioned that they think the company has upside because of the fixed assets they currently have and the logistical advantage of the company. Most of the feedback I've received has been that the company was completely mismanaged and that it was a reflection in macro trends/commodity pricing(which has since been resolved and reorganized).
Curious on any feeback.
You should google "distressed hedge funds" - I think you may find what you're looking for there.
