Top MBA's for Commercial/ Corporate Banking?
Hi WSO,
This was a topic that I could not find in any previous post, so I thought I might as well as the question. Commercial/Corporate Banking is an interest of mine, and I was wondering what MBA programs do the large commercial and corporate banks recruit from? As I understand the application pool is not as competitive as it is for Investment Banking, Private Equity, and Hedge Funds. So what type of MBA's do commercial/corporate banks recruit from (companies such as Wells Fargo, JP Morgan, PNC, US Bank, M&T Bank, Key Bank, TD, BMO, etc)? Do they recruit from top 20 MBA's, top 50 MBA's, top 100, or do they select from MBA programs from a specific region? Also, what kind of backgrounds do they recruit from? Final, question for anyone who has gone through the recruitment process do they have specific GMAT requirements?
Just wanted to renew post.
anyone knowledgeable on my inquiry?
Try a linkedin search. It seems like there are people in top 20 programs but also top 50 programs for those that join regional offices for commercial/corporate banking.
Thank you. Linkedin has limited its search function, but i have been able to find some ppl from one business school University of Rochester and University of Florida, schools both respectively ranked in the 30s sending ppl to M&T Bank and Wells Fargo.
Do you need a MBA to climb the ladder in Commercial/Corporate Banking? (Originally Posted: 03/14/2016)
Simple Question:
Is it a necessity to get a MBA at some point while climbing the commercial/corporate banking ladder (RM side) or can you get by without one.
