Does getting an M Fin./F.E./Fin. Math hurt your chances of getting into a top MBA program down the road?
Hi Everybody,
I know this has been asked before, but this seems to be very heavily debated in other posts.
Would getting a master's degree in Financial Engineering, Computational Finance, or Financial Math hurt your chances of getting into an M7 MBA (specifically Wharton or Columbia) program down the line?
I'm really interested in the markets, and I would really love to learn more of the advanced math behind why the markets work and how derivatives are priced. Would doing one of the aforementioned programs hurt admission chances into a top MBA program after a few years of relevant work experience, or would a reasonable story explaining why both degrees help?
Thanks
Depends. if your brand gets a substantial upgrade, won't hurt. if you have problem explaining why MBA after MS, then that's where it hurts.
