Doing two superdays in one trip?

I've been offered two final rounds at two smaller banks in NY. The person at on bank mentioned that if I was in NY in the next week or so, I would be able to do the final round then. I would like to do both in one trip, but I'm not sure how to proceed.
I believe I would make flight reservations with the one of the banks, but how do I say, can I stay an extra day to do another interview? Would it be best to just fly out separatley? Not a big deal to me, but it would be nice to kill two birds with one stone.

Thanks

I did this a couple months ago. This is what I did. Dont tell them that you are interviewing with another firm if they are footing the bill. Try to arrange your travel so that it accomodates your other interview and tell them you will find other accomodations for the night they are not paying for. Then stay with a buddy or pick up a hotel room. THis is how my plans went. Fly in Wednesday, stay the night and sleep on friends couch, interview with other firm on Thursday then stay in hotel, interview with firm paying on Friday and fly out late Friday. If they are a smaller firm and your recruiter is making the accomodations rather than a travel department it might be different. Maybe make up an excuse about an event you would like to see? Most of the time they only pay for a round trip flight and one night in a hotel but are flexible with how you arrange those flights.

I did two superdays in one trip this fall. It makes for an exhausting weekend. This is how I swung it

Tell bank A that you will only require a flight to the city, and afterwards you will be meeting some family and travelling home with them. Tell bank B you will already be in the area visiting some family, and you only need a flight home. You're all set.

Or the alternative - tell the truth. Most banks understand you are interviewing elsewhere. In fact, they want you to be interviewing elsewhere - it verifies to them that you are a competitive candidate.

- Capt K - "Prestige is like a powerful magnet that warps even your beliefs about what you enjoy. If you want to make ambitious people waste their time on errands, bait the hook with prestige." - Paul Graham

I also did this in the fall. I told bank A that I needed a round trip flight and one night in a hotel. I told them that I was also staying with family so they pushed back my flight a day, I then told bank B that I was already in town with family and all I needed was a hotel room and ride to airport. So I flew in Thursay night, interviewed friday, moved hotels, interviewed saturday, then went home.

it verifies to who - the travel department?  thats most likely who u r talking to.  i would have a story and stick to it - thats what i did when this happened.  and i scheduled several flights with a couple days in btw to actually visit friends/fam...they really dont care.

I don't think you need to worry about the fact that you're interviewing at other banks. As others have said, knowing that other banks want you makes the bank you're interviewing at want you more... it's just like high school all over again, only with banks instead of girls.

If you are afraid and do want to hide your interviews with other banks, I would just schedule the interviews for Wednesday-Friday and tell them you're taking a long weekend to hide it. Tell the 2nd bank that you're going to be in NYC anyway - make up some excuse, there are plenty.

thanks guys..... yea i don't want to lie, i guess i feel weird saying I have another interview.... I just don't want them to think their paying for my flight for another bank.

Thanks guys, I will probably just do it separatley since my schedule is already hectic with classes.

I guess the other thing is that these banks are pretty far apart, in terms of prestige/name/reputation. I would love to work at either though.

If the not as reptuable bank knows I'm doing final rounds at the other top bank, will they think that I'm only using them as a backup? This is by no means my plan, but I don't want them to think like they are second tier to me, because that is not the case. I chose these two places based on the people/experience, not so much the name or prestige.
