Doing well as a First Year / Product recommendations

How can you become a rock star as a first year? I know there are personality tips such as having energy. Also, we can look at the work bucket and be awesome at Excel.

Also, did anyone try out Victor Cheng's product? I know his email list is bs, but i didn't hear any reviews about the actual succeeding as a mgmt consultant product. Firmsconsulting offers a similar product: http://firmsconsulting.com/succeeding-as-a-manage…
Please let me know if you guys have any reviews.

Thanks!

I'm going to make the assumption that you've gotten in, which means you have the intellectual horsepower and stamina to do the job, your real differentiators then become your soft skills (emotional intelligence, communication, putting people at ease, interviewing/focus groups).

Intelligence and work ethic are table stakes. Knowing frameworks, nice - but you'll likely be given a way to do it from the team leads etc. So, you can make it up on communication skills / people skills, and delivering.

Hey OP wondering if you actually purchased any of those products, or found any other resources helpful? Planning on starting in Sept. but wanted to look up some stuff right now to prepare myself for the job.

Thanks!
