Donald Trump: Shamelessly Clueless or 4D Chess Master?

Been having this debate with some buddies ever since he gained traction on the campaign trail. Some of my friends insist that he is marketing genius who is well aware of the reactions his actions provoke and thus premeditates his every move perfectly. I personally don't buy that and think he's just a guy with a lot of balls and charisma and for that reason his relatively naive voter base sticks with him no matter how many times he misfires.

What does everyone think? Mastermind or Random Fuckery?

The dude absolutely controlled the news, beat every big money republicans and the most prepared and funded Democrat. He talked about Romney getting on his knees, put the pope in his place, mocked every big time senator and got elected without traditional campaigning or big money donors.

But yeah, trumps basically a moron who got lucky.

Edit

This naive voter base meme is a joke as well. He did perfectly fine with college educated voters. He got a higher % of the black vote than Romney or McCain. He won 3 blue states that Dems thought they owned.

People are largely sick of politicians who are morons but present themselves as geniuses. Of the educated elite Aka Krugman who think they know better but when given the keys fall flat on their face.

Looks like Trump bashing at first, but yeah.

Trump is was "lucky" enough to turn $1mm into $10bn while tripping and fumbling into the White House and managed to beat half of the world while yelling random shit that just happened to appeal to everyone.

For the readers here, 60% of whites voted for Trump. If you're a Trump basher, there is a good chance that many of your friends voted Trump and will even bash him with you without you ever knowing.

You are just embarrassing yourself.

Let me hear you say, this shit is bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S!

Don't get why people keep pushing this narrative that Trump's demographic splits are supposed to justify his presidency.

-He dominated non-educated whites by historic margins. -Educated white people have voted in favor of Republicans over Democrats with larger margins for Romney and McCain. -Yes he did slightly better with African Americans than those two, but he didn't run against a black presidential candidate... Seriously dude, non-educated white people put him in office. Whether that's good or bad is up for debate, but I really don't see how any other realistic narrative exists.

Also, he did control the news. He did it because he was the only one that could realistically afford to take the chance of running on a platform of bigotry (it certainly wasn't a platform of strong policy). If Cruz had done something similar and it ended up back firing, his career would be over. If it backfired on Trump (is Obama a Kenyan muslim?), well, he's still rich.

Bigotry lol. A platform on jobs, infrastructure, etc all becomes bigotry in your mind.

And those uneducated white voters who gave trump the win are called blue collar voters and union people, the bedrock of the democrat party until the this past election.

Gotta love how non educated voters are used against trump when the dem party is built on the back of poor, uneducated minoroties.

Sorry, try again.

Literally every single candidate starts screaming jobs, protectionism and investment when election season roles around. I really don't understand why you think that's what separated Trump from the other candidates. You really think he would have gotten that much media coverage had he only talked about jobs? How many other candidates called illegal immigrants rapists, murderers and drug dealers? How many of them preferred veterans that weren't captured?

He's a mastermind. He has not lost yet. Your friends are brilliant. Most people are followers, but they truly know their shit.
