Eastdil Secured - Analyst Interview
Has anyone had experience with interviewing for Eastdil's equity sales group? This is for the analyst position in a major metro.
From what I've seen, it seems that you are interviewed with everyone in the sales group with fit questions, brainteasers, and some RE/finance fundamental questions followed by an excel/argus test. In terms of pay it I hear it is 65-70k base, with 100-120k all-in, but that does come with the IB hours of 75+.
Does anyone know the details of the questions asked during the interview or the complexity of the exam? Also any other additional information would be welcomed.
No info on the interview, but just out of curiosity, how did you get in?
Just applied and someone from their team reached out directly to me.
Did you apply online or through your university campus? I have never seen an application online before for them.
I agree with "pudding", I have also never seen a job ad for them. For a first year, that is not bad, plus 75+ hours is doable.
Also, if you want to do REIB, there is no place better than Eastdil. Don't worry about comp. Whether you are in their traditional IB group or equity sales (investment property brokerage), you will have fantastic exit opportunities if you choose to leave. Don't think about comp in the short term.
Agreed, Eastdil will open many doors in RE
I have seen posting online. Generally under Wells Fargo...
Yes it was from the WF website. The opening I applied to only had 2-4 days of opening and I seldomly see openings posted.
I am also about to have an interview as an analyst for Eastdil. Can you tell me how your interview went and what the questions/tests were like?

Anyone here familiar with how these guys recruit?
Seems very exclusive/difficult to break into are my general impressions right now.
Very interested because they are #2 on RE M&A and equity bookrun league tables (behind BAML), and I've also seen them on huge commercial RE deals.
Any experience with them from ppl on these boards?
Advice thoughts/appreciated
Probably one of the best if you are interested in RE. Great exits into RE. Not sure about recruitment but I want to say they make the interns re-interview. I actually think if you have the right connections you will have an easier time getting in than per-say an a BB
I think Eastdil only handles those investment banking transactions in NY.
Eastdil brokers deals outside of ny too.
They directly recruit from Penn, a friend secured his analyst job straight from on campus recruiting. Note: he is not a Wharton student, graduated from the school of arts and sciences
If you don't mind me asking, did he have prior RE experience?

Hi everyone, I am interested in joining Eastdil's New York City investment sales group as an analyst at the end of my Teach For America commitment this June. Is there a formal recruiting cycle/ do they post their available positions online? I have not been able to find anything. Thank you in advance for the help!
Check the career section on Wells Fargo. I've seen positions become available with Eastdil on multiple occasions. Makes sense since they own them.
At my school Wells and Eastdil had people from both companies at the same information session, and I believe the poster above was correct that they have jobs on the Wells website.
Thank you for the quick response. Do you know if Eastdil follows the same recruiting cycle as a typical investment bank or do they hire on a needs only basis?

Hey got a first round interview at Eastdil equity sales not really sure what to expect can i get any insight on this?
Is this for the open position in LA/Santa Monica?
Its for DC
Please update - did you really wear a bowtie into the interview???
They're interview process is pretty rigid. First of all, make sure you dress like a champion. A ton of the guys in the DC office wear bowties daily so I would suggest wearing one. Been in a bunch of meetings with them and they're all about it. It is a really good company so if you landed a spot there it would be pretty dope. Just make sure you are on your p's and q's during the interview. Nice work man and good luck.
