Easy Internships
Im a rising sophomore at a non target with no finance experience and a 3.5 gpa. Are there any specific divisions of banks, where they consider candidates like this for summer internships. I know I-banking is out of the question but I just really want to get my foot in the door. Thanks in advance
Why is iBanking out of the question? I'm pretty sure if you got experience at a boutique IB, it'd be way more impressive than a BO job.
That being said...lots of banks have leadership development programs that you should look into...

Just poke around see what you find
I think the OP is referring to the fact that BB firms usually require you to graduating within a year of starting the summer analyst position. As far as my advice to you OP would be to intern at a PWM firm. They're practically everywhere and you can get it especially easy if your parent(s) are clients. Search around here for the dozens of threads on this. You may also go the route of getting the series 63 or 65 while there if you have any intentions of working in PWM.
*graduate oh well
I would go the cold-calling route early, network, and if not try and find a PWM internship which will at least give you some market exposure

I've heard of people with non-business degree and no experience from non-targets who get in at super small boutique shops and thats still technically IBD.
Question, if given the choice between a finance internship at a fortune 500 or a pwm internship what would be more beneficial?
