eric were you an intern there? i am assuming not many people have heard of this firm due to the lack of replies. I am currently interning at a no name boutique, and want to get an idea if interning at ECHELON will add anything to my resume/experience, but seems like this place is pretty unknown too. Though I read in the other thread that they recruit all the way on the east cost for summer interns

no, i wasnt, but one of my close friends was. He basically sat in front of the computer for 60 hours/ week and did nothing. The office is small too

I got a call back... told me write 3 essays and answer a bunch of questions. Looks like they're more of a hedge fund-ibank-consulting hybrid.

Is the work more qualitative or quantitative?　I wanna do modeling or valuation rather than research.

1. Please provide a brief description (in your own words) of the difference between an equity mutual fund and an equity-oriented hedge fund.
2. Please describe what has happened to the credit markets over the past twelve months in 500 words or less.
3. Please develop a table containing the names of the largest hedge fund complex and the largest mutual fund complex, noting assets under management for each as of the most recent date available?
