Entry Level Offer Help
So I have an offer with my "2nd choice" and have been told that I will most likely get an offer from my "1st choice". My 2nd choice needs an answer tomorrow but my 1st choice still hasn't given me a guaranteed confirmation.
Is it a bad idea to accept the offer from my 2nd choice with an intention of reneging if I get a confirmed offer from my 1st choice?
Anybody have experience with this or went through similar situations?
Thanks in advance.
Try to negotiate with your 2nd choice for a possibility to extend the deadline.
I've extended it already for two weeks so I don't have much leeway anymore. I'm assuming they would rescind the offer and move on if I don't take it
I see; have you let your 1st choice know about the offer you have right now? I wouldn't buy a verbal "likely to get an offer" since it means nothing (well it depends on who told you this). Is the difference between your 1st and 2nd choice worth taking the risk?
I was in a similar situation last month - was lucky that the partner I interviewed with actually pushed the HR to give an offer at an instant.
