Equity operations to sales & trading ? Thank you guys for advice given...
Hi I am a new WSOer here, and I need some advice for my career development...
I've interned at a European BB's equities sales and trading department, and I've always wanted to get a job on a trading floor. I graduated from a local top university, finance major, typically BB's local branches are full of alumni from my school.
However, in my country, investment banks have never recruited entry-level people (no matter in FO/MO/BO) for many years, and banks just don't give return offers either.
Hence I ended up landing a job at another European BB's equity ops department, and i am thinking about my exit options, because there are very few opportunities in my country.
My exit options are:
1. Find a sales assistant / trading assistant contractor job at other firms
2. Internal transfer (networking required)
3. Go to a local firm's FO and learn something
4. Save money for MBA, get a job in HK or other countries...
5. Wait till my old firm's job vacancy
Can anyone please give me some advice? Thank you guys very much...
