ER internship Help

Hey guys I am Junior at a non-target school close to NYC. The previous semester I chose to switch my major to finance. I have a 3.00 GPA and no prior internship experience. In doing research on various career options I came across ER. I enjoy learning what goes on and moves different markets and following different securities. This upcoming summer 2016 I would like to get an internship in this position.

1) What firms should I be looking to apply to? (I know my GPA is low so a BB may be difficult).
2) What can I study to prepare myself for ER?

Any other input you guys would like to add would be extremely helpful. Thanks for the help I look forward from hearing back from you guys.

I mean if I were you I would literally be applying to every single bank. These roles are hard to come by and many banks don't typically take a large ER analyst class as they do for investment banking. Apply to BB banks, apply to MM banks, apply to buy-side and sell-side roles, etc. Literally apply for over 50 jobs as it can be a numbers game if you are just submitting through a cold website.
