Extreme tear apart for my Resume

I have recently constructed my resume and when I looked at it originally it felt like it was strong. Then I read an article that said some of the things I was doing were not correct. I cross referenced the article with a professor of mine and he disagreed, so now I don't really know what is the right thing to do. I would appreciate it if you would all look at it and seriously tear it up apart so I can rebuild it stronger. ( When posting it here the format may have shifted a little)

Are you a seal?

... what's your goal with your resume? I can't tell from it what your interests are. I -still- can't wait to start working so I can auto-ding anyone with a profile/objective on their resume. Get rid of it. Along with the fluffy "personal abilities" section. What are you doing, applying to be a volunteer coordinator at the children's hospital? (Not hating on that job, it just doesn't necessarily tie in with finance...)

Also, out of curiosity (and because you may be asked) - why did you choose to do the UT Tyler -> TSU transfer? Obviously TSU is better than UT Tyler but you may be asked why specifically TSU. Why not try to transfer within the UT system to one of the better campuses?

So get rid of the objective part? Also what exactly should I do about personal "Personal abilities"? Also I transferred out of UT Tyler because my professors told me that it is not a true "academic" university. Not to toot my own horn but I love school, I have a 4.0 and I am extremely involved with my future so most professors I built a good relationship with approved of my move. However TSU is not a permanent stay, I want to go to UT Austin at the McCombs business school. I got accepted into UT but not their business school because you have to be have your basics done and a few prerequisites, so I figured I would go to TSU, start networking here and get my classes done so that next year I can transfer straight into the McCombs business school. I know it seems like a long step but it seemed like the best step for me. While I have been here in Austin I have joined many things like Young Mens Business League (YMBL), which has already made the move to this area worth while.

Yes, get rid of objective. "Personal abilities" is something that you talk about in a cover letter, not a resume; you want to use your resume to expand on your relevant experience and detail any skills you have in the context of jobs and (since you're an underclassman) leadership positions/student group involvement.

I'm still wondering why you didn't just transfer to UT to begin with? It is much easier to make the move from one of UT Austin's colleges to McCombs than it is to go UT Tyler -> TSU -> McCombs. You could have just joined the College of LibArts or NatSci like everyone else does, and then applied for internal transfer into McCombs? From what I remember, the only prereqs for McCombs external transfer is calculus 1/2 and micro/macro, both of which you can easily fulfill as a UT student in LibArts or NatSci.

If you don't believe me, compare the drastically different acceptance stats from external transfer: http://www.mccombs.utexas.edu/BBA/Prospective/Admission/External-Transf… and internal transfer: http://www.mccombs.utexas.edu/BBA/Prospective/Admission/Internal-Transf…

Not that you can do much about it now, I guess; it just seems like a much easier move than making a pitstop at yet another college :( Glad you're enjoying my hometown, though!
