Feeling the urge to leave the US? I'm a Canadian, Q&A, eh!

I've been watching your US debacle of an election campaign and feel sorry for my lovely neighbours to the south. As a result, I thought I'd give some pro bono advice for those looking for alternative places to call home.

Its not like were significantly better really. Wynne's "tax and spend" policies are sending Ontario in to free fall, the oil sands are imploding on Alberta and Quebec is well... Quebec.

Also, whats your Tims record? I'm 3/11 :(

I don't disagree. But come on, outside winter months we have it pretty damn good.

Timmies record: I'm 0/3 actually - there's a ton of great coffee houses all around my office I prefer, sadly.

REPE8:

I want to retire and spend half the year in Vancouver. Will the housing market bubble burst up there by 2046 so I can actually get something half decent below 7 figs?

I'm in Vancouver now and if you like the big city vibe (New York, Chicago, Toronto) this place is not for you. I can't wait to move back East.

Montreal is awesome.

Vancouver is a small city. There's no culture, no arts, no nightlife.... You have a nice national park, and solid skiing about an hour away... But that's it.

The people here are ice cold. For some perspective I lived in New York for 2 years and the people in NYC were FAR friendlier.

I've spent a fair amount of time in Vancouver, never lived there, but will disagree a bit.

It is not a small city, nor is it a booming metropolis. There is culture, there is a nightlife, there are arts, just not to the level of some certain major cities in the east (nor SF / LA)

Not sure who you're hanging out with but people in Vancouver (for the most part) are awesome
