Finance and Economics Dual-Major w/ Chinese Minor
My name's Dave, and I'm a college student at the University of Oregon who's looking to break into investment banking. Even though I know the field is competitive, I'm willing to put in the time to achieve my goal even if it means working sixteen to eighteen hour days.
I'm in the Clark Honors College, and I just finished a forecast for my graduation track, where I have targeted majors in business administration - finance, economics, and also a minor in Chinese. I'll graduate with around 290 credits in four years.
If I maintain a 3.5+ GPA and network appropriately, will it be realistic to break into a BB firm? I plan to keep applying to the University of Oregon Investment Group (UOIG) until I get accepted, which will help me network with executives from larger firms. I'm not entirely sure of what focus as of yet, and I'm dedicating all my free time on my classwork. Any advice for an 19-year old first-year college undergrad?
