Finance Externship in January...Summer Apps Due before that..put on resume or leave off?

So basically, I have an externship coming up in IB with a major company, from January 6 to the 11th...I already know what I will be doing there -- it's going to be a very in depth and technical externship. It would be great to include this experience on my resume when applying for summer internships because it's a well known BB.

However, I come from a somewhat targeted Ivy, and the majority of our apps for major IB internships are due between 1/06 and 1/08..should I go ahead and include the externship on my resume for these apps? I would probably just put "January" for the dates, and indicate it was a short externship.

I feel that the recruiters reading the apps are gonna be like "wtf, it's January 8th, when did he do an externship in January..?"

Thoughts, comments?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
