Finance Master despite ow quant score
Hi everyone,
so I did the GMAT yesterday and unfortunately it was a disaster. I got 690 points in the end but with a Q42 which is shocking and V41.
I want to do my master in finance and originally planned to apply to LSE, HEC (why not giving it a shot), SSE, CBS, RSM, and Bocconi. Obviously, this score makes admission at some of these unis impossible. Despite my terrible quant score I still think that I am generally good with math and I do think that I could improve a lot in this section if I took the test another time. However, studying for the GMAT while writing my thesis might be a challenge.
So my question would be if anyone has advice on whether there are possibilities to get into a good finance master with this score or whether I should take the test again.
Regarding my profile: I am in my third year of Economics and Business Economics at Maastricht University. My current GPA is 8.6/10. I participate in the Honours Programme and will finish most likely cum laude (in case that is of any value). Unfortunately, I have done no internships so far.
Thank you very much for possible advice
GMAT math isn't quant. It's Algebra asked in an ass backwards way. What math classes have you taken? What were your grades? I don't think a 690 is a bad score either.
