First IB/AM internship -- credentials

first time posting after several months of reading

i know there are multiple posts like mine, however, any and all feedback is appreciated

I am trying to get my first IB/AM summer internship in 2011 and my credentials are as follows.. if anyone could tell me what type of places i should be lookin into that would be great

3.2 GPA at semi-target
2 x captain of playoff caliber NCAA lacrosse team
NCAA all american lacrosse player
no previous IB/AM experience
coursework strongly related to IB and AM

Any help choosing places to apply would be great

thanks!

Try to get an internship, something local - get some easy experience, anything will do - but as always the more prestigious or applicable the better.

Start networking as soon as possible. Use any connections you already have. You will make new ones easily because...

Banks love athletes. Period. I've been at two so far and this statement has proven true again and again. Some great traders and IB MDs were once great college athletes - use your lacrosse background to your advantage. Wall Street loves winners, and athletes are at the head of the pack.

Remember, it won't come all at once. Keep building experience and connections over time.
