First year PE associate pay
What's the standard for PE associate pay today? I'm guessing along the lines of 200k to 300k for middle-markets, and 300k-400k (with outliers) for the megafunds?

that's a bit high
i seriously doubt any megafunds start first year associates at above 300k.
Most megafunds pay at or above 300k (all-in with bonus) from what I've heard. What have your experiences been with MM or upper MM PE pay?
Warburg and TPG are both within 240k all in. So you're wrong.
Agreed... you're way too high
ok, thanks guys. just wondering because on here:
http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/2013-start-pe-associate-numbers
multiple kids from upper middle market shops posted 250k+ numbers, which leads me to believe that's the range for MM PE, with the megafunds being 50-100k more (so 300-350k)
Sweatshops from upper middle market shops can pay just as much or more than a megafund given their sweatshop nature and their desire to steal candidates that would normally got a megafund. There are a few upper middle shops in LA and Chicago that pay 260k all in for example which is more than what TPG/Carlyle pays.
Also, don't trust what everyone says in threads such as those with 0 verification.
leonard green in LA, for example, pays at or above megafund (blackstone, KKR, etc.)
If you're not an IBD analyst, this is a pointless question. If you are, ask the headhunters. They can give you much more specific numbers.
you do realize that people who aren't IBD analysts also go to PE funds as associates right?
i don't have reliable data on megafunds. several friends and myself have gotten upper mid market offers at firms with strong reps, and I can confirm that we got $260-280 guidance. however, i don't have any contacts at megafunds. where did you get warburg/tpg at $240k?
