Forbes 30 under 30 2016 is out.

Here is the link: http://www.forbes.com/30-under-30-2016/finance/

The list disappoints me a bit. I don't know about you guys but late 20's VPs is not something that really surprises me. The 21-year-old guy is nice, so is the IEX guy.

Let the hate begin.

Region

Nobody on the finance list interests me except for the Chain.com founder, IEX co-founder, and Robinhood founder. Then again, the 30 under 30 finance list has always been underwhelming relative to the other lists.

Once again, WSO hates on those who are exponentially smarter, more successful and wealthier than them. Why am I not surprised?

Like with any list, there are some who are not as impressive as the others. And obviously there is a lot of subjectivity that goes into this, but keep in mind that the 30 people were selected by a very august group of judges. It was not some high school popularity contest. All 30 of these young men and women have demonstrated incredible accomplishments and a rock star professional trajectory. I would not be surprised if a few of these people end up on the Forbes 400 one day.

Don't hate the player. Hate the game. Now, go out and hustle rather than hating on the Forbes 30 Under 30.

These lists are fucking ridiculous. You kids realize that, in order to be on one of these lists, you have to be nominated, right? I fucking promise you that there are 28 and 29 year olds all over the world that shit giant golden turds on every single one of these dudes. Who gives a fuck?

Not only do you have to be nominated, you have to agree to be involved. That's why there so many people in every group that are marketing/sales focused career paths in their given industry.

This is an important point. The rich people that I am acquainted with and work for are very private. Having their names in the news is the LAST thing on Earth that they want--no news is good news.

Edit: But yeah, after looking over the list of career paths, a lot of those people will benefit by having their names on this list. Makes sense to me why most of them would want to participate.

Mephistopheles:

Jeeze, I'm older than most of them and look 5 years younger.

Stick around finance longer. When I was 10 years older than them, I looked 20 years older than they do.

Also, a little selection bias here. Looking young is generally a hindrance to your career, especially in your twenties. The fact that many of them look older than average is not a result of their success, but has contributed to it.
