Hi everyone, I just signed up as recently I've been leaning away from a career in accounting. I'm a second year undergraduate student that was always interested in getting my CPA/CA, but now I don't feel that way anymore. My goal right now is to secure the best possible position for this coming summer that'll propel me forward in landing an IB internship after my junior year. Any advice/pointers for someone just starting off? -A

You are still in college, is it possible for you to do a double major in accounting & finance? A lot of the courses usually overlap so you may not have to spend too much extra time for the double major. Since you are in your second year, internships are key. Try to get one with one the BBs or even the Big 4. Have atleast two internships from reputable firms before you graduate. I would not completely deviate from accounting. A large portion of ib interviews actually focus on your accounting knowledge.

Networking is key . You got to sell your self. I graduated with a Accounting degree as well. Understanding the fundamentals of accounting is necessary. Try to get into a Target school. That will make things a lot easier
