Freshman Internship Decision
What would be better for a freshman internship for someone looking into S&T for summer after sophomore year?
- paid internship at MSSB
- KPMG consulting - unsure about exact details of work
Reason I'm asking is I've heard a lot of people have said wealth management doesn't look good?
bump?
Take whichever one can give you the most knowledge on IB. It gives you a leg up for junior year internships
What kind of projects in wealth management would be relevant for IB?
If you can't find the relationship and work comparisons between IB and wealth management, then you don't have what it takes to make it into IB. Learn your stuff before you come here and start asking questions
I'm asking about the specific day to day technicals in IB vs wealth; I've done a bunch of interviews/networking to know about the businesses from a general perspective, but not on how they go about doing research/investment analysis, their software, etc.
@ MoneyisHappiness You know, as a high school student who was literally asking about college decisions a few days ago, you should really avoid sounding so cocky.
agreed^
Also @OP, WM as a freshman won't hurt you looking for S&T as a sophomore. They're basically just looking at your previous internships to see whether you have a tangible interest in finance/markets in general - most of your success recruiting for that next internship will hinge upon networking and having a solid story as to why you're pursuing S&T.
