A. Bond
B. Swap
C. Derivatives
D. Options

Answer : A

Schweser has notes for FRM. If you've done CFA then you'll find a lot of course overlap. According to a friend who has passed both levels, it's supposed to be easier than CFA. Designation weight depends on the kind of job and geolocation... (not much idea though)

I am inquiring specifically about risk management roles... It looks like the FRM exam started only a few years ago and was wondering about how valuable it is.. e.g. if one does not have risk mgmt experience, can an FRM title lead to an interview call or not..

What type of risk management roles? I don't want to say FRM "doesn't mean shit", but I can tell you that I don't know a single person with the designation and my department shares a leader with our risk management org (so we sit together and interact quite a bit). Some have a combo of the CIA/CRMA even though they do not work in "audit"... makes sense since a large part of auditing is knowing where risks are but this is possibly related to previous careers that translate easily into risk management roles. There also are some CPAs and CISAs in that org, but those are probably from their prior "lives" before they joined the group and kept active as a "nice to have". I, personally, wouldn't waste my money but they are selling those things to someone so maybe others feel differently.

It depends...

If you want to do equity research or some type of institutional Asset Management it's almost a requirement to have it these days.

HFs - not really.

Investment Banks is a very broad term and you could be referring to anything.

Finance firms - You get a point for describing every financial enitity under the sun.

I wish to join a hedge fund after 3 years when I complete my graduation in engineering. I want to trade either FX or ABS but I am unable to decide which is more interesting and suitable for me also at the same time has an optimistic future in the market. In this context I am looking for an answer regarding the various exams and the skills required to be good in this industry.
