From a small city with big dreams

Hey guys, idk if anyone will read this, but I'm a second-year finance student at a non target in Atlantic Canada. Recently heard about this wonderful online community through one of my friends and I must say, I spend at least 30 minutes on here everyday-reading success stories, interview tips and other job related advice. My ultimate goal is to land an analyst job at a BB firm within 3-4 years of graduation, preferably by the time I'm 24. Never quite imagined my life beyond my aspirations to work for a top investment banking firm in a big city and I'm determined to do everything that it takes. I've already come to terms with all of the disadvantages that overshadow me and the mistakes that I have made. The fact that I could've went to any university in the country but didn't, and that it took me this long to figure out that I wasted so much time.
Little about me; current gpa of 4.15/4.3 (aprx 3.86/4 in the states), did $25k in sales for a firm past summer, was in the army for about a year. Fluent in almost 4 languages.
That's about it haha.

I don't think being non-target is a huge deal if you properly network. However, you definitely need at least some boutique experience if there isn't much OCR, because it shows: a) continued & demonstrated interest b) development of specifically relevant skills

Go on CapIQ and look up IBs/PEs/HFs locally that will have you. Call them up or email them using templates on this site. I'm sure you'll land something. You have a sick average and you've demonstrated perseverance in two different ways.

Also, because you are fluent in 4 languages, consider places abroad (Asia? Europe?) that you would be able to intern in as a 3rd year.
