FT Analyst: Getting Better at Financial Modeling
I am an incoming analyst in training right now working at an EB (think Parella/PJT/Moelis) and majored in Engineering in College. Last summer I interned in project finance and have no other finance experience (though i've taken accounting at school). I was lucky enough to land my FT job through networking and persistence.
But I am feeling behind the kids who have done summer internships in banking in terms of modeling. My training hasn't gone in depth into modeling yet but I am just wondering what I should do to get up to speed and become good / really understand the mechanics of modeling since I have no experience with it and know that I will be required to deal with it during my full time job.
Your EB probably provides TTS/WSP training, which will help.
If you feel the need to self-study, look into BIWS.
SA don't do as much modeling as you would think.. They also forget most of it by the time they start as FT
Youtube: Breaking Into Wall Street, they have some great tutorials. Wall Street Prep is also an excellent resource. Any of the Prep packs here are also amazing
