FT offer waiting list? Need your insight.
Hey guys,
I would love to hear what you guys have to say about my situation.
I got a call yesterday from HR and they told me that I had done very well in my interviews on superday and that I was at the top of their "list" (near the top of the list? I can't remember). Anyways, that was the good news. BUT, the bad news is that they are still waiting to hear back from their summer analysts whom they extended offers to. My HR rep told me that their full-time recruit class is about the same as their summer analyst class and that their retention rate is typically about 75-80%. In the markets we're in, that rate could either be lower as analysts look to move away from the financial services industry, or it could be higher as those who received offers look to secure their jobs. I asked if even one summer analyst were to decline their offer, would I have a good chance at receiving an offer, and the HR rep said that I would indeed be one of the first to hear about a full-time position.
It seems as though not everyone in the summer class has taken their offer immediately as the HR rep said that he/she still has to reach out to them this week, but hopefully one of them will have a different offer in the bag? Or maybe still interviewing/doing superdays for other opportunities? What do you guys think? Honest answers appreciated.

Congrats on your position.
Congrats on your position. However, I say, keep interviewing. This market is terrible.
Definitely, I'm still in the
Definitely, I'm still in the interview process with a few other banks. Right now I'm acting as though I don't have this possible offer, but it would be nice to have this offer because it's an area I really want to pursue.
Maybe go kill a former
Maybe go kill a former summer analyst... honestly, will anything that anybody says change the outcome of your situation? just wait it out.
which division? ibd, s&t?
when was your superday and what timeline did they give you?
Superday was last Friday,
Superday was last Friday, they told us they would get back to us by Tuesday, which they did. I'm inclined to think that they extended offers to 1-2 kids who were the best on my superday, and told 1-2 kids what they told me. HR said that they would get back to me by mid-October because they still had to reach out to those they had given summer offers to. So technically, I should find out within a week? But the weird thing is, they told me they also have two more superdays later in the month. :(
