Hi guys, I'm interested in applying for FT oil trading roles in a country which is an oil trading hub. However, I do not have oil related internships, and am wondering what I can do right now. My background: - Internships in real estate investment, boutique IBD (Clean Energy), M&A advisory at a big 4 firm (transaction services) - Accountancy and Finance student I have read Oil 101, the king of oil, and other related books on oil. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated! Thank you.

All good reads. Look for "Commercial Analyst" or "Cross Bench Analyst" roles... this is generally the starting point. In this type of role you will be doing a lot of MTM analysis, PNL reporting, and helping the traders with whatever general bs they need. After that, people tend to either stay in analysis with more responsibility or move into a scheduling/logistics role. Then, if you decide to move on from scheduling you can move into a physical trading chair.
