Q&A - FX Dealer in a MSB Washington DC
So for those wondering a MSB is a money services business. We basically perform certain services of banks but cheaper to our clients by running them en-masse through banks.
For some background on me i was an English Literature major with a 2.7 GPA when I graduated from a top 150 public university (you can tell its between 100 and 150 because I didn't say 100). So mr. Steve in a can how did you find yourself here? well i took a job selling software, made them a but load of money in my first year then jumped to a firm expanding to the US (London headquarters) but they moved to Texas so now I'm at a competitor making trades for clients and cold calling for new ones. Mostly the stuff most of you IB guys would of been doing if this was 30 years ago.
I generally work 8-5 though 8-4 on Fridays. Top guys at my old firm in London averaged around 1 million to 1.5 and at my current one (sense we don't do FX options) they're sitting around 600-800k.
If you can think of any questions that I didn't cover here I would be more then happy to answer them for you eggheads =P
