As the responses are not that many, I'd take a shot. Why don't you catch up with colleagues from your BB in NYC and make the best of your network there? I'm sure from your grad class you'd find a few people who are in S&T. If you can get to speak with people running desks and share your story, they might have options to discuss with you.
Equities and credit sound relevant to IBD but you mentioned quantitative stuff as well which is definitely possible in equity derivatives and IG credit on the trading side; any vanilla derivatives stuff will allow you to gradually move toward something more quantitative depending on circumstances and skills.
Will look into both suggestions. As I said before, would love to get into a HF but have only invested passively so don't think I have the chops quite yet to be qualified to interview at one and convey my stock pitch/investment thesis with any formality. I think an S&T desk would be an excellent introduction.

Thanks, I stumbled upon those after some googling, was hoping for additional insight from anyone in the business.
