GMAT math
Question on what type if math is on gmat. Ran the mill of math in school, up to linear algebra and stats/prob basics. What type should a person focus on to study for test?

It's high school math. Get the MGMAT guides to refresh. It's basic algebra/geometry/word problems/etc. The only reason it's difficult is that you only get 2 minutes per question so you have to memorize shortcuts and do practice problems/CATs.

Its fairly straightforward high school math. Basic algebra (wont go beyond quadratic eqns, geometry, word problems etc.) Either get Manhattan GMAT or Kaplan and make sure you spend at least 2-3 months preparing. Also make sure you use the free tests you get when you sign up for the test from mba.com. I have been tutoring for the GMATs for 5 years and in my experience it takes about 3 months of dedicated prep and TONS of practice to get a good score.
