Going to a start-up non-finance firm in NYC just to network

Hey all,

Right now, I'm in this small Canadian city that barely anyone has ever heard of called Waterloo. I haven't been successful with campus recruiting in September, most likely because my school is a complete non-target. Should I take an offer to go to a start-up non-finance firm in New York City just to be able to network around and break into finance in the future?
