Goldman Sachs AFG Superday - Nov 2016

Hi everyone, I just heard that I got a superday at Goldman for AFG in early Nov and wanted to know if anyone has experience with them - what kind of questions they ask compared to standard IBD etc.

I'm interested in the Corporate Derivatives group, have been speaking to a lot of alumni from my school, and wanted to know if the super day is with people from all 8 groups in AFG. If anyone has particular experience interviewing for Derivatives, what is the interview like and are you expected to know stuff like Black Scholes?

Thanks!

Hey man, congrats on the superday! In my experience, the superday was not technical at all (though of course, it depends on your interviewers). It was fairly chill, and there were three rounds of 2v1 interviews for me. I got to meet people from varying groups, and regarding preparation, there's another thread on WSO about AFG superdays that I think is fairly accurate.

One thing I'm curious to know is how GS AFG stacks up to Classic IBD groups at other firms and what group within the division at GS is considered the best in terms of exit opps. Would appreciate any insights.

Thanks man! Were the interviews behavioral then? Also, did you have a clear idea of which group in AFG you wanted to join? Cause I specifically want Corporate Derivatives - and have been trying to read up on option pricing (basic Black Scholes) etc but it's pretty hard cause I've never taken classes on derivatives/ not very easy material.

When did you have the super day, and if you don't mind me asking, did you get an offer?

I think that depends on what you want, but for me personally, I want derivatives cause it's intellectually challenging, great people, small and growing group and has good HF exits from what I've heard.
