Goldman Sachs Salt Lake City IBD Superday 9/30
Hey guys,
I'm headed to SLC for Goldman's IBD super day next Tuesday. Is anyone else going, and does any one have experience working in their IBD there? SLC was never on my radar, so I'm wondering if anyone knows how it is living/working there.
Thanks
Didn't know GS had IBD in Salt Lake City. Thought it was only Finance, Compliance, Technology, Operations, Human Capital Management, Investment Management, and Research.
I think its brand new, I couldn't find anything on the internet about it, nor here on WSO. Nevertheless that is the position I'm interviewing for. I had a first round phone interview with a IBD VP in NYC.
Nice. Good luck!
I've spoken with people at the Salt Lake City office in GIR and Credit Risk and I heard that they've been thinking about bringing IBD to SLC for the past year. Congrats on making super day in the first group and good luck!
Odd that they're bringing you there for an IBD super day. Same as the people above, I've never heard about any IBD stuff out of slc, and though it was all back office. I'd make sure to confirm that it's actually IBD and not something like PWM (which they do have out there). Either way, good luck man.
Thanks, I went to double check and this was the email sent to me a few days ago by their HR. I'm guessing this must be the first
Ya I asked one of my friends who is a VP over there and he said they are definitely bringing on the first IBD class for SLC. Congrats again to the OP.

Anyone else attend this superday? Has anyone heard back yet? It's been a day since the end of the interview and I'm getting a little anxious
I don't say this to be a dick but rather to share from my own personal experiences with FT superdays - if you haven't heard by now, the best case is you're on the waiting list
That's what I was thinking.. I was hoping that the process was maybe taking a little longer since the interview was in NY while the open positions are in SLC.
Appreciate the honesty.
Be sure to clarify that it's front office. I had a recruiter email me about an ibd analyst position in IBD in SLC. Upon reading the description carefully I realized all it involved was doing the back office research and data pulls for front office analysts in NYC. If it is indeed front office, congrats!
Did you get an of fer?
SLC has GS IBD Data Resources. Make sure this isn't for that.

@ moi_90, I just received a call from GS in NYC 30min ago, and I did receive an offer
@"lasampdoria" This role is for the very first IBD class in SLC, it is not Data Resources
What details have you learned about this during or since your interview? Like how big the group is (analysts, associates, senior guys)?
What your industry focus would be? Is it just misc companies in the Southwest, what industries do the senior guys have the most deal experience with? Do you know the names of any senior guys you'll be working with? Are you supporting SF or NY in any way? Is deal execution split with SF or NY, for example?
Comp....can you confirm your base pay?
Congratulations, best of luck!
Congrats OP!
