Goldman Sachs Veterans Integration Program *Phone Interview in a week*
Hi,
As mentioned in previous posts I'm currently active duty military trying to make the transition to the finance world. I just landed a phone interview with Goldman for the veterans program and am looking for words of wisdom. It's in about a week so I'm doing my best to prepare. I read the threads already posted on here but am hoping there are a few in the process or have been through it to talk to these days. Please let me know through a post or PM and hopefully we can chat more. Is there anyone else in the running right now? Thanks!
is it for a specific division? I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't.
PM me
PM Sent.
I made it pretty clear I'm interested in Asset Management and global investment research so I'm assuming it will be with them but haven't been told as of yet. I will e-mail HR and ask I suppose.
I had my phone interview on Monday. I didnt think it went great and was stressing the past few days. I got an unexpected call this morning from another GS veteran associate. He was extremely chill (turns out he was in the same extracurricular club as me) and just wanted to make sure what department I wanted to join (i originally had operations as my top preference). He is calling back tomorrow to give me some advice and resume tips. Either im moving on or getting tips to pursue something else.
PM sent usunk. That sounds great. It looks like you have someone who will be looking out for you. I interviewed on Wednesday but have not heard anything yet haha! Feeling the same as you were. I didn't think it went great but not horrible. Just hoping I got the nod for the next round. Eh you can reply here or in PM. You still looking at operations or did you change things up?
Had a second phone interview with MD! I think it went pretty well except that my phone kept dropping it's signal ugh!! Other than that I believe I made a good showing. I'm really hoping to be able to move on to the next step!
I don't have any value to add, but I wish you the best of luck.
Best of luck bro.
Yeah we'll shall see if I move forward. Looking at possibly the Salt Lake City location if anyone has first hand knowledge. Trying to learn about their GIR/ IM out at that location.
I just finished going through the Goldman VIP process, awaiting results now. Process was like OP's, with a few differences:
edit: got an offer in early march, about 2-3 weeks after superday
The application/interview process was challenging & rewarding--definitely recommend any vets who are interested give it a shot.
best of luck. know nothing about the program but i am happy that firms are giving back. thank you for your service!
I went in for the VIP superday interviews this month also, still waiting to hear back. Has anyone gotten word from the recruiters yet?
"We are still collecting the divisional selections for the Veterans Integration Program. Someone from our team will contact you next week with regards to your status."
:o
Who gave you that update?
Email just sent for the New York/Jersey applicants.
I did not get that email, but then again I did not apply for the program. They just sort of piggy backed me on because of my veteran status when I sent them my resume a few weeks ago.
Hopefully thats good news for you though.
It looks like calls are going out today with offers. I just got mine and am super excited. Now i just have to work my military separation date to be in NY by the 7th.
Congrats! That is exciting! I didn't get the call. Let us know how it goes.
I also was selected, very excited? Anyone looking for a roommate?
What divisions were you given offers in? I still have not heard anything- I assume I will get a non select email at some point today.
^^im waiting for that email too. i applied for operation in ny. still nothing.
I didn't get a call, but I also interviewed on the 21st. Did anybody who interviewed that day get an offer?
I interviewed with tech, on the 11th in NY.
got an offer yesterday for the IBD! They'll let me know which group next week.
Anyone get a call today?
Yup, just discovered that rejection calls are finally going out today. Congrats to those that were picked up, though.
