gpa question for SA

Hi All,

I am applying for SA positions in BB in NYC.

So I am from a non-target but pretty prestigious liberal arts college. I connected to some alum who is willing to give my resume to the HR. I am wondering what does it take to get a first round interview? What is the GPA cut-off if I do not have prior finance experience.

There's no actual cut-off, but generally people look for a 3.5. If you don't have a 3.5, you gotta have some great ECs or a very important daddy. Either way, make sure to put together a story about what you have on your resume.

PS- Make sure to do some research before you post questions like this, this has been asked a bunch of times and answered in a bunch of threads. If you want to get a better handle on what the finance life is like, you might as well start looking through all the threads in IB forum. Pay closer attention to what the people with gold stars say. It'll help you enormously I'm sure (and keep you from having to ask questions like these). Good luck!

I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.
