Small shop - only 6-7 bankers. Used to be a boutique called Beaufort Partners before it was acquired by Greenhill (Evercore was actually looking to buy Beaufort as well). The two MD's who run the office, are both well regarded as they used to be the heads of MS and GS in Canada. Deal flow is okay, but they are working on the Forzani Group-Canadian Tire deal, which is pretty big news.
Based on the guy's I know who work/worked there.
They are not huge on facetime or pitching. They do deals that are usually in the news, one of the first major deals they helped work on was the BCE mess wayback, ofcourse never closed. They like to promote from within. The pay is crazy good for Toronto, crazy good.
The two guys I know who went there, 1 Ivey, 1 WLU. Were both extremely smart, hardworking but ultimately down to earth, laid back kids and they both really like'd their experience there.
Greenhill Toronto Summer Analyst Interview (Originally Posted: 01/11/2016)
Hi,
I have an upcoming interview with Greenhill for their Summer Analyst position. I have gone through the technical interview guides and was wondering what kind of questions they ask? Is the interview process (1st round) very technical, and if so what topics should I be most ready for?
Any help is appreciated.
Hey +KobeBean24, I know this is a bit late, but I'm very interested in GH Toronto. How was the interview process overall?
what do you mean by crazy good? had an opportunity to do a high-school co-op there but declined
Does anyone happen to know anything about Greenhill Dallas? I know it is run by a couple of the guys who used to run UBS Dallas (supposedly had a falling out w/ their NYC counterparts and jumped ship to Greenhill causing UBS Dallas to be closed down). But does anyone know what kind of deals they do? Hard to imagine the Dallas office getting many big deals -- would think Houston would dominate.
This is pure speculation but Dallas does have some big PE/HF sponsors as well as HQs for many C+R co's, so would think stuff out there would be C+R and/or sponsors.
you're right, that is just pure speculation. they cover energy and power out of dallas.
