Is this the one where you work with investor relations? I knew a kid who did executive office so you work with the executive office senior management, so head of IR, head of this head of that.
they liked the kid, and he's doing pretty well.
Interview? Just everything about GS, who the heads are etc. Head of securities, head of IB why Gs, why this division etc.
I am just curious as to how this might play out as I am currently abroad and have a phone interview hopefully set up soon. I'm not sure how disadvantaged i am going to be...is it possible at all to move forward without being able to have an interview in person?
GS Executive Office Internship? (Originally Posted: 04/04/2008)
So I applied to Goldman for IB summer analyst but never heard back from it. All of a sudden I was informed that I am in 1st rounds for Executive Office Summer Analyst. Sounds very prestigious but I have never heard of it nor can I find anything about it on the web.
My guess is it's some back office job where I take care of administrative things and I report directly to the execs, but does anyone have any idea of what it is exactly?
Many thanks!!!
I am not sure how it is here in the US, but at a foreign internship that I had last year I worked in the executive office as one of my rotations. It was pretty interesting as I got to speak with the CEO, and was chosen to go to the airport and escort a couple of the CEO's guests (won't say who they were but most incredible networking opportunity ever). Other than that, I did things like write brief summaries covering countries that executives had to travel to. There was a ton of downtime where I was just surfing iboasis. Your experience may be completely different, especially at a big place like GS.
GS Executive Office - Sophmore at UM Ross (Originally Posted: 04/15/2012)
Hey guys,
I'm a sophomore at UM Ross. Had a first-round summer analyst interview for the executive office @ GS in late March, which I thought went reasonably well. I sent thank you e-mails to everyone involved the next day.
After two weeks, I sent a follow-up e-mail to one of the Associates who interviewed me. It's been another week and still no response either way (not even a "we're still evaluating candidates").
How should I interpret this? At this point, I'm pretty sure I've either been dinged or wait-listed, but should I call them to get some kind of confirmation?
Thanks!
Definitely call. My experience with GS is that if the interviewers are sufficiently interested in someone they wouldn't respond to any questions. Only HR gets in touch with you.
