GTA V

Seriously no thread here yet? Anyone else playing this? I guess there aren't many gamers on WSO. Loving the game so far, only a few missions in but my, what an experience.

Any hot stock tips? Everyone keeps saying ammu-nation etc. are the stock to invest in but I think it will bubble.

You can invest in stocks in GTA V?

I hope this is better than the last batch of shit you gave me. Produced more wood than Ron Jeremy. I don't want you to yell, "Reco!" anymore. Know what you should yell? "Timber!" Yeah, Mr. Fuckin' wood.

Yes. There's an offline market influenced by actions you take in-game (such as destroying cars belonging to certain brands, killing CEOs etc.). The online market (BAWSAQ) doesn't open until 1 October or so when the multiplayer goes live.

That is awesome and not a feature I have heard about. Will be picking this up for the 360 when I get back from out of town. Can't wait.

This to all my hatin' folks seeing me getting guac right now..

That is by far the most awesome game feature I have heard about in the past 5 years.

I'm talking about liquid. Rich enough to have your own jet. Rich enough not to waste time. Fifty, a hundred million dollars, buddy. A player. Or nothing. See my Blog & AMA

Oh haha well that pretty cool.

How much better is it so far compared to IV? I plan on getting it before the weekend but haven't had time yet

Much better. I'd say it takes all the best parts of San Andreas and expands on them, greatly. There is so much to do.

Not sure about the music yet, so far it's not up with Vice city but I haven't really been paying attention to the radio. Music is personal taste I guess anyway. Only have 4 hours gameplay clocked mind you, I do have a job... unfortunately.

I didn't get to play it much last night, but from what I did play, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I just now, like most of us it seems, found out about the stock market in the game. I'm pretty excited about that. How will the online stock market be effected? Just an aggregate of how the offline market would be affected?

Not sure, think it's based on what happens during multiplayer. I think multiplayer is meant to be a free-roaming experience but with other people running around too and you can do activities like racing, golf etc. together. So I guess it will work in more or less the same way as the offline market, but on a global scale and real-time.

That's why the "hot tip" now, is to pour all your money into guns and ammo stocks as it's assumed when multiplayer is live, people will be buying lots of those products. I think some may make money on it but all the hype about gun stocks will over-value them.

Game is amazing. It's rare that a game not only meets your already hyped expectations, but blows them out of the water too.

Regarding the stock market, for now, I just stick to robbing stores and then buy the stock of their competitors. lol

How is it compared to GTA IV? I found that boring as fuck and tossed it in my drawer pretty early on. I have zero idea how I'm going to find time for this, but the feedback is almost too much to ignore.

I'm not much of a gamer but here's my 2 cents... I wish that Rockstar waited to launch GTA V until the PS4 comes out (Nov 15?). Have a version for both the old and new consoles. The graphics don't do justice for such a legendary game.

It is inevitable that Rockstar will develop a PS4 version. Then I will consider a PS4/GTA V bundle.

Inevitable is probably accurate. But so far Rockstar has said they are not making one for the next-gen consoles.

Plus, many games coming out between now and the new consoles are offering $10 upgrades from the current to the next gen.

TTWO stock (in the real world) seems to be underperforming quite a bit considering how strong the market is.

And only a 1.5B mkt cap? GTA V alone is expected to have $1B in sales in 1 month so that's probably something like $250M in profits.

I imagine this company is loaded with debt.

To add, Rockstar announced today that it made $800M in sales in one day. Holy sh!t!! And this hasn't even been released in Japan or Brazil yet.

Source: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/09/18/gta-5-makes-800-million-in-one-d…

And now in the after-hours TTWO has been bid up 6%.

I also think that upon announcing they were making GTA V the stock probably went up a bit so the release of the game was priced in, just not the crazy amount of day 1 sales.

As a fellow PC gamer I feel your pain. Thankfully I believe they will release a PC version around the same time they release the versions optimized for the new consoles (~6 months).

GTAV will come out for the next gen systems and PC but rockstar and take-two would be stupid to announce it this earlier on that want everyone to purchase it for 360 and then for xbox one or PS4. So by january of next year I expect there to be GTAV on all platforms

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.

I would buy a PS4 if they make a version for it. Currently I do not own any gaming console.

I think people would have no problem buying this game for PS3, and then again for PS4, just to see the difference in graphics. Rockstar could possibly add some other features too. People are that hooked to it. But yea, strategically it is wise for corporate to be hush hush about it.

Yeah tbh, i'm one of these people. Probably holding off buying a PS4 until next year now but even so, I don't think those who buy one will miss GTA too much, they have Watchdogs etc. to keep them occupied.

Been too preoccupied with playing sports games or COD, how is the multiplayer for GTA5 or on previous GTAs?

Scandal:

Requirements for PC must be ridiculous - GTA IV already pushed many next-gen pcs at that time to their limits (even more so than Crysis).

Too be fair, that was probably because the port for GTA IV was lazily done and thus not optimized for running on PCs. Crysis at maximum settings was prettier than GTA IV.

Are you guys really that excited over a virtual fucking stock market in a game like this? Only on WSO...
