Twenty Four Hour Gyms in New York

Hi All:

I am moving to NYC in the fall and was hoping that you guys would be able to give me advice on good twenty four gym that is easily accessible from either 200W or is in the west village area where i hope to live.

Thanks guys!

24-hour fitness A couple of NYSC's are 24-hours (grand central I know is for sure, but is normally crowded) A lot of smaller/cheaper gyms try and attract people by having 24-hour offerings

A lot of places are open until 11 or so, and trust me after you get out of work at 2am... you aren't going to want to go to the gym...

Blink Fitness also, $20 a month, $20 initiation, $40 yearly dues. 24hrs, at least it was during the promotional period. On East 4th and Broadway.

I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.

the kid is a loser. he never comes on here to talk about anything related to himself or his interests. and frankly he knows better. nobody wants to listen to such a sorry fuck. all he does is search for my posts to comment on. the dude will never amount to anything. he is that kid in the group that always uses the work of others.

id venture to guess that the office gyms suck. i could be wrong, but we need the heavy stuff -the good stuff.

I've never seen an office gym that didn't suck. Most of them have a real shortage of free weights, ironic since free weights are cheaper and take up less space than machines. They're also better, of course.

Anyone have any suggestion on boxing gyms, perhaps in the midtown east / murray hill area?

Kingsway and Mendez boxing are two boxing gyms in the midtown area....both a bit west of you but there are no real boxing gyms in midtown east/murray hill.

And on the question of 24hr gyms, it should be pointed out that you may want to do some research before showing up at a 24 hour gym "late night" especially in the West Village. Alot of these places become total gay cruising places late night..I live in the West Village and belong to a Crunch Gym that isnt 24 hours hours but even that one can get awkward at certain times and you definitely dont want to use the locker rooms...i guess for a chick its not a big deal tho.

goldman has a gym on the floor below the skylobby. it's not 24 hours (closes at 11 i think). you can sign up through HR workways for membership and they automatically deduct 50 bucks a month from your paycheck. no activation fee and they have shoes / shirts and shorts for you to use every time you go. easy to workout and then get back up to work. it's a great gym - machines for the cardio bunnies and a couple of flat / incline benches with the full set of dumbbells and free weight plates. also has two squat racks and an 'awesome abs' class that's killer.

Just a heads up for those trying to save $. NYSC has a student rate for the summer if your 22 or under. Its $30 a month and you stay locked in forever. (Student Passport club membership)

Signed up today. Great because you save around $500 a year =)

Thread seems to be going, but quickly wanted to say thanks for all your input. You guys rock. 200w bound but I'm a gym bunny so want something twenty four in case I miss chance in the day. Thanks all!

You better be a chick calling yourself a gym bunny.
